Or it could be like when you want to summarize a book or a books chapter, you would rewrite it into a smaller version of the chapter by taking the key ideas, and points and rewriting them into something that is still smaller than the chapter, but you can still understand and are still able to comprehend what the chapter is supposed to be about.
