The area of the base of the smaller prism, rectangle ABCD is  1.26 cm²

<h3>What is a prism?</h3>

A prism is known to be a kind of shape that is  3-dimensional in nature and it is one that has two similar shapes facing one another.

Note that to solve this, it will be:

\frac{AB}{4.2} = \frac{BC}{2.7} = \frac{2.1}{6.3}  = 1.3cm

\frac{BC}{2.7} = 1/ 3

2.7/3 = 0.9

Therefore, the area of the base of the smaller prism ABCD  will be:

AB × BC

= 1.4×0.9

= 1.26 cm²

Therefore,  1.26 cm² is correct.
