The name of the ship is <span>USS Maine. It became a famous ship because the war began after it was sunk and this war was so important and big that it was even fought in Asia. After it, Spain lost control of Cuba and the Philippines, as well as Puerto Rico and Guam. The US had to pay for these but it was a low amount of money compared to what they got out of it.</span>
