Answer:

D

Explanation:

The easiest method is to substitute each option in place of tolerated. That being said, C doesn't make sense because it sounds wrong- "it was no longer already tolerated" isn't grammatically correct.

B doesn't sound right but there's (technically) nothing wrong with the grammar.

Tolerate means you ARE able to accept or endure something. Tolerable is the adjective version of that.

This can be tricky because you may think it's asking for the meaning of the phrase and not the word tolerable. It's only asking for tolerable.

That being said, A and B are the opposite meaning of tolerable- they mean you cannot endure it, which is the opposite.

D is the answer.

Describe what gatsby car looks like
swat32

Answer:

Jay Gatsby's Rolls-Royce plays a crucial role in the story and is described as having “a rich cream color, bright with nickel, swollen here and there in its monstrous length with triumphant hat-boxes and supper-boxes and tool-boxes, and terraced with a labyrinth of wind-shields that mirrored a dozen suns.” Jay Gatsby

How are W. H. Auden's "Musée des Beaux Arts" and William Carlos Williams's "Landscape with the Fall of Icarus" similar?
Nonamiya [84]
You could argue that Auden’s poem contains some of the Imagist elements W.C.W. pioneered, but the essence of their similarities is really in the approach of each to the role of individual experience.

Bruegel’s painting really captures the essence quite well—the fall of Icarus was a matter of myth and legend, but such noteworthy events as that are largely irrelevant to the lives of most. Life goes on and our duties do not wait for us to marvel at such intrusions.

You can see—below the ship—the legs of Icarus sticking out of the water, yet the ploughman still toils.
