The \lim_{x \to 2} x+1=2+1=3 using the ε − δ definition of a limit.

ε − δ definition of a limit?

Epsilon-Delta defines a limit at a finite point that has a finite value.

To find the limit, two variables, delta (δ) and epsilon (ε) are first created then the epsilon region is choosen so as to define a delta region.

\lim_{x \to 2} x+1=2+1=3

The \lim_{x \to 2} x+1=2+1=3 using the ε − δ definition of a limit.

Agora chess club has 16 members and gains a new memeber every month. The key club has 4 members and gains 4 new members every mo
svlad2 [7]

Answer:

For chess club:

y1 = 16 + 1*x where y1=total number of members after x months

For film club

y2 = 4 + 4*x where y2=total number of members after x months

y1 = y2 at

16 + x = 4 + 4x

3x = 12

x = 4

Therefore, after 4 months they the same number of members (equals 20 members, 16 + 1*4 or 4 + 4*4).

Rewrite the expressions in each pair so that they have the same base. c) (1 /2)^2x and (1/ 4)^x - 1
just olya [345]
I'm not completely sure but this is what I would do.
evaluate (1/ 4)^x - 1 as is. But change the (1 /2)^2x to (2/4)^2x. This way both fractions have the same denominator and in this sense, the same base. The 2/4 base still evaluates into 1/2 so nothing, mathematically, is being broken here.
