In some states, particularly in Texas, and in *some* companies, Juneteenth is recognized as it should—a National Holiday—with employees having time off, etc. Deep, down, the systemic racism still in place within our country is keeping the mass celebration of Juneteenth in a box unlike traditionally “white” holidays such as Independence Day, etc. While there is still work to do, I believe that if there is still pushing, that one day, Juneteenth WILL be a celebrated National Holiday, just as others are. I know this is a simply answer, but a complex one to resolve.

Hi!
W.E.B. du Bois was a great man.
Black nationalism and later works. Du Bois's black nationalism took several forms—the most influential being his pioneering advocacy of Pan-Africanism, the belief that all people of African descent had common interests and should work together in the struggle for their freedom.
Hope this helps!
