Ian is working two summer jobs, making $19 per hour lifeguarding and making $9 per hour clearing tables. In a given week, he can

work no more than 14 total hours and must earn a minimum of $180. If xx represents the number of hours lifeguarding and yy represents the number of hours clearing tables, write and solve a system of inequalities graphically and determine one possible solution.

The number of hours spent lifeguarding and clearing tables is 5.4 hours and 8.6 hours respectively

Solving inequality equation

 • x = number of hours lifeguarding
 • y = number of hours clearing tables

x + y ≤ 14 (1)

19x + 9y ≤ 180 (2)

From (1)

x = 14 - y

substitute into (2)

19x + 9y ≤ 180

19(14 - y) + 9y ≤ 180

266 - 19y + 9y ≤ 180

- 19y + 9y ≤ 180 - 266

- 10y ≤ -86

y ≤ -86 / -10

y ≤ 8.6 hours

 • substitute into (1)

x + y ≤ 14

x + 8.6 ≤ 14

x ≤ 14 - 8.6

x ≤ 5.4 hours

True or false the area of a regular heptagon can be found by breaking the heptagon into seven congruent triangles and then takin
creativ13 [48]

Answer: The answer is true.

Step-by-step explanation: The given statement is :

" The area of a regular heptagon can be found by breaking the heptagon into seven congruent triangles and then taking the sum of their areas".

We are to check its is true or false.

In the attached figure, a regular heptagon ABCDEFG is drawn. Sine the heptagon is regular, so all its sides are equal and all its angles are also equal. So, we can break the heptagon into seven congruent triangles 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 taking 'O' as the centre of the heptagon.

Finding the areas of these seven triangles and taking the sum will result in the area of the heptagon ABCDEFG.

Thus, the given statement is "TRUE".

Find the smallest non-zero whole number n such that 756n is a perfect cube.
Kitty [74]

Step-by-step explanation:

756 = 2² * 3³ * 7.

For 756n to be a perfect cube, all of its prime factors must have a power that is a multiple of 3.

How to get from 2² to 2³: Multiply by 2.

3³ has already a power that is a multiple of 3.

How to get from 7 to 7³: Multiply by 7².

Hence n = 2 * 7² = 98.
