Jem got mad at Scout for chewing gum because it was found at the Radley place.

I would chew gum from the tree because I believe that the Radleys aren't as horriffic as everyone says they are.

I think that one of the Radleys put the gum there for kids in general, not just for Scout, whether it was mal intended or not.

It's not right for the kids to act out the Radleys because they have no idea what actually happened, just gossip from neighbors. It is rude to make fun of people's lives.

.) Scout defines the term as a "strict commitment to the Baptist religion without allowing for any bending of those views in any situation," or "all enjoyment is bad."

.) Miss Maudie is the Finches' neighbor and is one of their (the children's) good friends

.) Jem lost his pants because the children snuck into the Radley's back yard. They got scared because they saw a shadow, and frantically trying to get out, thinking it was Boo Radley's shadow, Jem's pants got stuck and he lost them in the process.

.) The children would snoop around the Radley's place because they wanted to catch a glimpse of Boo Radley's face.

.)  One of the Radleys fired a gun at the children because he was aware that someone was in his back yard and it was either a child, an animal, or a negro.

.) Jems pants showed up folded neatly and stitched up at the top of the fence

.) The other children recieve two figures carved in soap, followed by chewing gum, a spelling bee medal, and an old pocket watch.

.) They know the gifts are for them because the two carved figures are them.

.) Mr. Radley plugged the knothole in the tree because the tree is dying.
