During Radical Reconstruction blacks gained rights in the South that would have been unthinkable just decades earlier, and some were elected to office. Radical Reconstruction also saw the South's first publicly funded education system, economic development programs and anti-discrimination laws.

I would change the rights that people get. I don't think that everyone should have access to guns. I think that they should have strong limitations. If they added a law where you had to have a perfect criminal record, that is what I would like.

Spanish Civil war took place between 1933 and 1939. However, until Francisco Franco's death in 1975 the Spanish population suffered the terrible consequences of an anti-democratic government.

4. THE RIGHTS OF WOMEN DECLINED

In 1931 women got the right to vote in Spain. However, only in 1933 were able to attend the first elections and participate in the polls.

That same year, the Spanish civil war broke out. The reason why women could not re-exercise their right to vote until 1977.

This situation can be read in Dulce Chacon´s novel "La voz dormida". It tooks place in a clandestine jail for women after the civil war.
