New Mexico provided men to fight in the Cold War. Also, spanish-speaking soldiers of New Mexico sacrificed, fought and many died to end the Civil War that was headed west. This victory by the New Mexico Volunteers secured the victory of the Union Army giving Abraham Lincoln the strength and authority to write and enforce the Emancipation Proclamation.
Um no the Great lakes would be located considerably farther east side of the U.S and would be south east in Canada because its in the bottom of their country.
The Roman Empire survived more because it had economic stability. Its provinces produced food and other goods, carried out trade that brought wealth and also paid taxes. The empire was also well protected.
