Both of those values are in scientific notation

Scientific notation is when we have numbers of the form a \times 10^b where 0 \le a < 10 and b is an integer.

Both 9.725 and 9.7250 are inside the inequality mentioned above.

Scientific notation is used to help describe very large numbers, or very small numbers, depending on context.

---------------

If you wanted to convert from scientific notation to standard notation, then you'll move the decimal point based on what the exponent is. The positive 6 means we move the decimal point 6 places to the right.

We go from 9.725 to 9,725,000 which is about 9.7 million

In other words, 9.725 \times 10^6 = 9,725,000

As another example, 1.23 \times 10^{11} = 123,000,000,000 = \text{123 billion} since we start at 1.23 and move the decimal point 11 spots to the right to arrive at 123,000,000 aka 123 billion.

What is the constant term in the perfect square that starts with x2-4x
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer:

add 4

Step-by-step explanation:

x^2-4x

Take the coefficient of the x term

-4

Divide it by 2

-4/2 =-2

Square it

(-2)^2 = 4

This is what we add to each side

x^2-4x +4 = 4

For #4, for any right triangle a^2 + b^2 should equal c^2. Square roots are just numbers to a power of 1/2. You can multiply the exponents together of #^(2 * 1/2) and simply get #. With that in mind, we can use sqrt2 as our a, sqrt3 as b, and sqrt5 as c, since c is always the largest number. For A, sqrt2 squared is 2, for B, sqrt3 squared is 3, and c is 5. Since 2+3 does indeed equal 5 you have a right triangle.

For #5, dilating by 3 means our length will be three times as long as whatever it is there. To find out how long the line is, we can make a right triangle. The differences between the x values are 6, and the differences between the y values are 12. A^2 + b^2 = c^2, 144 + 36 = 180, c= sqrt180, which is approx. 13.416. Multiply that by 3 and you get ≈40.25 as K’L’.

What is the base of a triangle whose height is 10 and whose area is 160
tia_tia [17]
B x h = triangle area
triangle area= 160
height= 10
b x 10 (divide it by) 2= b
160 x 2 (divide it by) 10= b
32= b
the height of the this triangle is 32

The graph of ....is shown below. G(x) is a transformation of f(x). How would you write the equation for the function g(x)? PLEAS
Ber [7]
It's B because the overall slope isn't changing, just the y value is changing.
