A segment has the following data:
ankoles [38]

Answer:

Net income will decrease by $400,000

Explanation:

Currently this business unit is generating a net loss of $150,000:

total revenue - variable expenses - fixed costs = $700,000 - $300,000 - $550,000 = -$150,000

if the unit is eliminated, then the revenue and variable expenses will be gone, but the fixed costs will be allocated to other business units. So instead of losing $150,000, the company will lose $550,000. The company's net income will decrease by $550,000 - $150,000 = $400,000

Based on the scenario being described it can be said that the concept that is best illustrated in this scenario would be a decentralization of authority. This is the process in which authority is moved to the lower level managers within an organization. Which is what is happening in Chimbake, since they have given the store managers full authority to control and create the dessert flavors as they see fit.

Why we remove interest amount from 1 year amount?
Lynna [10]

The interest amount earned is removed from the accumulated amount of savings because the interest is simple interest.

What is Interest?

interest is the percentage amount earned over the savings made and deposited in the account, the interest is a basic market interest rate that is applied to the savings to calculate the amount of interest income for a given period of time.

The savings are deposited and they are applied for the interest rate the interest income is also included in the original savings, then for the next year the interest rate will again be only applied to the original savings amount and not the compounded amount that is the original amount of savings plus the interest earned in the first year.

That is why the interest earned in the first year is deducted from the total savings in the account to calculate the interest income for the second year.
