Answer:

A.) It shows jack does not approve of Algeron.

Explanation:

Although I have never read "The Importance of Being Earnest."

I can go off the excerpt and see that someone is talking negatively about another.

B./ It isn't really showing Jack's strength- as it is them drogging on about someone else and how they are heartless.

C./ I don't see how the excerpt would show this? Maybe if there was more writing it would, but the excerpt shows it does not show any foreshadowing.

D./ Not sure who the "I" is in the excerpt- Jack or Cecily

Now- if the "I" is Jack- the answer would be A.)
If the "I" is Cecily, I would assume the answer would be D./
( though I doubt this is the case.)

In Roald Dahl's short story: The Landlady, Dahl's antagonist is very forgetful. She continues to forget Billy's name. She states
Sergeeva-Olga [200]

Answer:

Idiom

Explanation:

The options you were given are the following:

 • allusion
 • apostrophe
 • hyperbole
 • idiom

Idioms are phrases that don't have a literal meaning. This means that we can't conclude what a phrase means based on the meanings of words that make it up. We simply have to learn what these phrases mean.

An example of an idiom is in one ear and out the other. This doesn't mean that something enters through one and exits through the other ear. Actually, this expression refers to an instance when someone ignores, dismisses, or forgets something almost immediately after being told. In this case, Dahl's antagonist keeps forgetting Billy's name instantly after hearing it.

Daylight saving time, do you think we should have 1 hour ahead or behind
Anarel [89]

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, daylight saving time saves energy. Since the sun sets one hour later in the evenings, the need to use electricity for household lighting and appliances is reduced. The same can be applied for the morning hours, as most people will wake up after the sun has risen.

In 2008, the U.S. Department of Energy studied the impact of the extended daylight saving time on energy consumption and found that the extra four weeks saved about 0.5% in total electricity per day. While that number might seem small, it added up to electricity savings of 1.3 billion kilowatt-hours — or the amount of electricity used by more than 100,000 households for an entire year, according to the department website.
