Read the following poem. Summer's Day Today was a day for kickball in the sweating street, a day for ice cream, soft and sweet.

Today was like a warm hug from a dear old friend, like a toasty squeeze from start to end. Today will be a dream-bright, brilliant and green, when tomorrow comes and the dreaded day turns brown and mean. Identify one simile, one metaphor, and one example of personification. Write a paragraph (no more than 250 words) for each figure of speech, explaining how these figures of speech encourage a learner to enjoy the poetic feel and meaning of the poem. (15 marks) 2

How did the new camp appear to elie in the Night
Ira Lisetskai [31]

Answer :

The lines "The camp looked as though it had been through an epidemic: empty and dead. Only a few "well-dressed" inmates were wandering between the blocks." from the book "Night" by Elie Wiesel describe how the new camp appeared to Elie.

The new camp that Elie talks about in these lines is the Buna concentration camp where he and his father had recently been brought. The camp appears to him as if it had been through an epidemic as many of the inmates mostly old men and children have been sent to the chimney or crematorium to be burnt alive to death.

i need help on writing a page on Dr.Shirley Jackson it need to be 3 pargahs longand don' t know how to start it at all
Flauer [41]
Alright, you should need an introduction.

First of all, the introduction needs to have a grabbing sentence that will interest the reader, and make them want to know MORE. Secondly, you must include a thesis statement in order to inform the readers on what your topic is, and what you will be talking about.

Second of all, the body paragraphs need to include facts and evidence. you must site everything in order to not plagiarize.

Third of all, the conclusion needs to be at the end, and it needs to restate the thesis.

Answer:

I don't exactly know what the teacher is looking for but I'll give it my best shot!

Explanation:

When America was discovered the first amendment was freedom of speech, and today people exercise that amendment everyday to voicing their opinions on everything good or bad, however such an amendment is what makes America great. Winston Churchill once said, "Everyone is in favor of free speech. Hardly a day passes without its being extolled, but some people's idea of it is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone else says anything back, that is an outrage." This is true because some people will disagree on something and someone will get backlash mainly on social media. Another example is when Fredrick Douglas once said "To suppress free speech is a double wrong. It violates the rights of the hearer as well as those of the speaker." This is also true because if you don't hear someone's opinion all the way through then what is the point of the topic? In conclusion, America's freedom of press is important because everyone gets a say.
