2. Muliply the fraction by a common multiple of the numerator and denominator

Explanation:

This fraction/ratio isn't in simplist form. We can simplify it to find an equivalent ratio.

\frac{12/2}{6/2} =\frac{6}{3}

We can keep simplifying to find more equivalent ratios.

\frac{6}{3} =\frac{2}{1} =2

As for multiplying, two ratios are equivalent to each other if one of them can be expressed as the multiple of the other. We can multiply both 12 and 16 by 2 to find an equivalent ratio.

\frac{12(2)}{16(2)} =\frac{24}{32}

You can keep multiplying by common multiples to find more equivalent ratios.

Thus, you can either simplify or multiply to find equivalent ratios.
