The Three-Fifths Compromise saw to the agreement in that 3/5th of each individual slave would be counted for as a citizen, which would lead to more taxation (which is good for the North, as the South would pay more to fund governmental programs), and representation (which is good for the South, as they get a larger representative population in the House of Representative, which can skew votes in their favor).

It is important to note that while slaves counted as "3/5th of a person", they were still not given any natural or voting rights in the United States. It was simply to balance the power between the South and North.

Basically the more romans = stronger empire bc if there were more romans it would be harder to attack rome/conquer it. there were more people exposted to roman culture, allowing it to be spread all over and expand the empire
