IceJOKER [234]

In this case, the purpose of the authors with this passage is to emphasize the rivalry between Jack and Ralph, this is shown as the author explains the differences between Jack and Ralph ideas about survival. This passage shows Ralph would us commonsense, logic and civilized principles to survive through "the world of longing" (what is real) and the "baffled common sense". On the other hand, Jack would use more barbaric strategies such as "hunting" or "fierce exhilaration".

These opposite points of view are confronted during the story as Jack becomes the antagonist and a barbaric leader. While Ralph attempts to be the civilized leader of the group.

Arada [10]

Today early morning there was a knock at the gate . My mother got up and opened the door She cried with tears of joy. She saw her pet on the gate with a man. Her pet was lost some months ago. The man returned her pet . She was very happy to see her pet. I ran to the door and quickly snatched up the now, full grown puppy. Zeus was his name and that was because of a trident shaped scar on his bottom. For many months before we lost him, he was a rising star on social media. My mother had created a page for him, while I directed him in his videos. After almost 2 million subscribers his last video of when being explained how we had lost him gained over 4 million views. My mom cried and cried after losing him, blaming herself for forgetting to pick him up from a daycare. When the daycare had closed for the day the workers got tired of waiting for mom and placed him outside and then left. I was very angry with my mother for weeks. And didn’t want to see another dog. But now he was back and I can’t wait to make more memories with him.

Discuss the negative effects of unemployment.
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

Negative Effects of Unemployment

The negative effects far outweigh the positive effects when it comes to the impact unemployment has on society and the individual as well.

Not Enough Money: This is one of the adverse effects on the individual. Everything in the world costs money. If there is no source of income, you're going to have to settle and go without. If an unemployed individual has a family, it's difficult. Sure, there are unemployment benefits, but they aren't going to pay for extra things to do with your family and travel to new places.

Health Issues: This is another individual negative effect, but an important one. Being unemployed can lead to depression, low self-esteem, anxiety and other mental health issues, especially if an individual truly wants a job but can't find employment. Tension can occur, causing stress and strain on the body.

Economic Issues: During unemployment, there is no income, which leads to poverty. The burden of debt will increase, leading to economic problems. When there is unemployment, the state and the federal governments have to step in and pay unemployment benefits. By needing to pay more of these benefits, the government must borrow money to pay the benefits or reduce spending in other areas.

Social Issues: Many crimes are committed by individuals who are unemployed and living in poverty. When unemployment rates increase, crime rates tend to rise. According to the study in the Journal of Quantitative Criminology in 2016, individuals who are unemployed for socially unacceptable reasons and don't wish to seek out job opportunities are more likely to engage in burglary or robbery.
