A Persuasive Essay is the correct answer because its a way to persuade the reader to agree with your claim (opinion). You need facts and evidence to help support your claim, which is what the reader will be looking for that will help them get on the same bandwagon as you (agree w/ you).
You can tell because the passage states the thoughts/feelings of multiple characters, while not using "I" or "You" or any other first or second person pronouns.
