Notice the table of values

when x = 2, y = -5

then "x" goes 2 units over to 4, and "y" moves over to 5, now from -5 to 5 is 10 units, so when "x" moved just 2 units, "y" went 10.

then "x" goes further down to 7, moving 3 units over,
and "y" goes further from 5 to 20? what the? it went 15 units.

so.... hmmm notice, is we do some quick splitting and instead check how much "y" is moving for every unit on "x".

notice, on 2 units of "x", "y" moved 10 units
and on 3 units of "x", "y" moved 15 units, like from 5 to 20.

so, "y" is really moving 5 units on every unit moved by "x", so the "rate of change" or slope is indeed constant, is 3 to 1 all the way.

Which of the following sets is NOT dlosed under addition?
sergij07 [2.7K]

Answer:

Odd numbers.

Step-by-step explanation:

Closed under addition means you will able to take any two numbers from whatever set is mentioned and add them to get a number in that same set.

(If I say counting numbers, I'm still talking about the natural numbers.)

So let's look at the natural numbers {1,2,3,4,5,6,...}.

1+1=2

1+2=3

1+3=4

...

6+19=25

Let a and b be counting numbers.

a+b is still going to be a counting number.

You will always get a counting number when adding two counting numbers. So the counting numbers (also known as the natural numbers) is closed under addition.

Let's skip down to odd numbers because the other sets are similar to the first.

Let's add a pair of odd numbers.

3+5=8

8 is not odd so the odd numbers are not closed under addition because we will not always get an odd number. In fact, you will never get a odd number, but the thing is you just need one example to show it is not closed.

(2k+1)+(2a+1)

2(k+a)+2

2(k+a+1) is even so adding two odds will always give you an even.

On June 1, 2007, there were about 18.75 h of daylight in Anchorage,
WINSTONCH [101]

The percent decrease of daylight on November 1,2007 is 54.67.

Step-by-step explanation:

 • While finding the difference between 18.75 and 8.5 is about 10.25h.
 • Percentage gives right value of increase and decrease in value.
 • It is easier to calculate and understand percentage wise.
 • It is imperative to start percentage by 10%,5% and 1%.
 • While taking 10% of 18.75 it comes to 1.875.
 • If we take 5 times of 10% it comes too 9.375h.
 • It is very closer to 10.25h.
 • If you take 5% it goes approximately beyond 10.25h.
 • It is imperative to take less then 4% 0.75 it comes to 10.125h.
 • If we take 1% 0.1875 which is again beyond 10.25h.
 • It is important to take exactly 10.25h.
 • If we take less then 1% about 0.67%. It is closer to 10.25h.
 • 10% of 5 times 9.375 4% 0.75 and 0.67.

The following scatterplot shows the percentage of the vote a candidate received in the 2016 senatorial elections
neonofarm [45]

The critical values corresponding to a 0.01 significance level used to test the null hypothesis of ρs = 0 is (a) -0.881 and 0.881

How to determine the critical values corresponding to a 0.01 significance level?

The scatter plot of the election is added as an attachment

From the scatter plot, we have the following highlights

 • Number of paired observations, n = 8
 • Significance level = 0.01

Start by calculating the degrees of freedom (df) using

df =n - 2

Substitute the known values in the above equation

df = 8 - 2

Evaluate the difference

df = 6

Using the critical value table;

At a degree of freedom of 6 and significance level of 0.01, the critical value is

z = 0.834

From the list of given options, 0.834 is between -0.881 and 0.881

Hence, the critical values corresponding to a 0.01 significance level used to test the null hypothesis of ρs = 0 is (a) -0.881 and 0.881
