Well from my experience it's really just getting to know your clients and finding their likes and dislikes. For example I recently was a photographer at a baby shower and people loved the fact that I was always smiling asking questions, asking how they wanted to pose, and really just including them in the experience. I only use a cannon camera and natural lighting because the photos really just rely on the editing. Making photos brighter and having less contrast always makes them look very nice. But basically what makes you be a professional photographer is just being original and being unique when it comes to photos!
