Africans used religion to resist colonialism as it religion states that all men are equal before God and as such they taught each other and have this mentality.

A lot of missionaries played a role in promoting economic change and bringing an end to colonialism.

They brought and encouraged more than just subsistence economy, Africa enters the market economy and make them see that all men are equal before God. This fuel their agitation for independence.
