What are the effects of an tsunami?
Alex73 [517]
A tsunami will reach land and hit the land with a massive amount of water and will topple over small structures, flip cars and move them like dust in the wind. The tsunami can go far into land up to about 8 miles. The tsunami is most likely caused by an earthquake out at sea.

trace the journey of a piece of granite through the rock cycle. Explain how this rock could be changed from an igneous rock to a
viva [34]
A granite can be transformed from an igneous rock to a sedimentary rock and then to a metamorphic rock or the sedimentary rock can be transformed back into granite again by metamorphism. First of all, a granite often occurs in mountains and is susceptible to weathering and erosion.. Weathering such as argillic weathering can help break t he rock down to its constituent minerals which are mostly quartz, orthoclase feldspar and biotite mica. This then gets washed down into the rivers and thence to the coast and gets deposited in a marine environment as part of a delta or alluvial fan, in the form of sand, silt, clay and gravel. As this sediment becomes compacted, it turns into rocks like sandstone, siltstone etc. With deeper burial and the addition of heat and pressure these rocks get converted into such metamorphic rocks as quartzites, slates and phyllites, etc. I have seen a meta sandstone grade into a granite in the Canadian Shield so granite can then form from metamorphic processes as well as igneous processes.

Watch the Submarine Slide portion of the Slides topic of the animation. How can a submarine slide at the edge of a continental s
Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

A. by pushing water being pushed into a bulge ahead of the advancing underwater debris flow.

Explanation:

 • The submarine landslides are a type of landslides that transport the sediments downward and thus the ocean floor is filled with the deep deposits of the sediments due to the downwards driving stress. And theses takes place in a variety of different ways including the planets as low as 1 degree.
 • They tend to be caused by various geologic attributes and these include the weak geologic layers, an example of Norway.
 • Overpressuring of the rocks strata, due to the deposition that occurs in the river. Some earthquakes and the associated environmental stresses, groundwater seewa[page and the glacial loadings.
 • Various hazards are associated with the submarine landslide like that of the Tsunamis ad an example of this landslides tsunamis are the landslides if the Papua new guinea as the slides depends on nature and the waves velocity and the wavelength.

The owner of a tree farm decides to harvest a stand of mature white pine trees. Each white pine yields approximately 62 board fe
adelina 88 [10]

Answer:

$13764 ; $247752 ; $173426 ; $259740

Explanation:

1 white pine = 62 board feets

Density of white pine = 120 trees per acre

Wholesale price per board foot = $1.85

The value per acre of white pines

(Number of board foots per white pine) * (Number of white pines per acre) * (wholesale price per board foot)

(62 * 120 * $1.85) = $13,764

B.) Amount Realized on harvesting 18 acres

Value per acre * 18

$13764 * 18

= $247752

C.)

Amount charged by timber company = 30% of wholesale price

Total wholesale amount realized on 18 acre = $247752

Amount left after paying timber company :

$247752 - (0.3 * $247752)

= $173426.4

= $173426 (nearest dollar)

d.

Amount made now : = $247752

After 10 years :

The value per acre of white pines

(Number of board foots per white pine) * (Number of white pines per acre) * (wholesale price per board foot)

(127 * 120 * $1.85 * 18) = $507492

$507492 - $247752 = $259740
