The Hammurabi code of laws, a collection of 282 rules, established standards for commercial interactions and set fines and punishments

Explanation:

For example, "an eye for an eye" or "a leg for a leg"

If someone were to cut off someone's leg, then the person would have to get his leg cut off as well.
