A compound inequality is the combination of one or more inequalities.

The solution to \mathbf{6 < 4x - 2(x - 2) \le 12} is \mathbf{5< x \le 8}

The inequality is given as:

\mathbf{6 < 4x - 2(x - 2) \le 12}

Open bracket

\mathbf{6 < 4x - 2x - 4 \le 12}

\mathbf{6 < 2x - 4 \le 12}

Add 4 to all three sides

\mathbf{6 +4< 2x - 4 + 4\le 12 + 4}

\mathbf{10< 2x \le 16}

Divide through by 2

\mathbf{5< x \le 8}

Hence, the solution to \mathbf{6 < 4x - 2(x - 2) \le 12} is \mathbf{5< x \le 8}

See attachment for the number line of \mathbf{5< x \le 8}

A cone has a diameter of 22 inches and a height of 4.5 inches.
creativ13 [48]
We know, Volume of a Cone = πr² h/3
v = 3.14 * (11)² * 4.5/3
v = 3.14 * 121 * 1.5
v = 569.91 in³

In short, Your Answer would be Option C

Hope this helps!

A) Why are all parallelograms not rectangles?
GrogVix [38]

a) Rectangles always have 4 right angles (90 degrees), but parallelograms do not always have 4 right angles rather they can, but do not have to. Rectangles have to.

b) A square is a type of rectangle, but a rectangle is not a type of square. Both rectangles & squares have 4 right angles and are always quadrilaterals, but squares always have all sides that have the same length, but rectangles do not have to have their sides all equivalent lengths.

c) In the case of a parallelogram, the opposite sides are equal whereas in a rhombus all four sides are equal.

SOS PLZ IDK THIS VERY WELL NEED HELP
zaharov [31]

Answer:

1. a. 25(1) + 10(2) + 3(3) + 10(4) = 94/140 = .671

2. b. Mark’s average < Jay’s average

Step-by-step explanation:

1. What is Mark’s slugging average?

The slugging average gives more weight to the multi-base hits (compared to single-base hits) in opposition with the batting average.

So, a single hit is worth 1 point, a double is worth 2 points, a triple 3 points and a homerun is worth 4 points.  It's a weighted average calculation.

Mark had 25 singles, 10 doubles, 3 triples and 10 homeruns during 140 presences 140 at bat.

25(1) + 10(2) + 3(3) + 10(4) = 94/140 = .671

2. How does Mark's average compares to Jay's?

Let's first calculate Jay's slugging average then we'll be able to decide.

Jay had 10 singles, 6 doubles, 5 triples and 14 homeruns in 90 presences.

10 (1) + 6 (2) + 5 (3) + 14 (4) = 10+12+15+56 = 93 / 90 = 1.033

We can definitely say that Mark's slugging average (0.671) calculated above is lower than Jay's average (1.033).  So,

b. Mark’s average < Jay’s average
