The pros of a longer school year would be knowledge retention. Students would spend more time on subjects and be less likely to forget them. They may also adapt to the conditions of habitual work which they will also face in adulthood and possibly find better coping skills. On the other hand, the pros and downsides of these ideas could be that children will be overloaded with learning and lose their natural curiosity or interest in subject and therefore refuse to learn. Also, some students may not adapt to the pressure and suffer from illnesses or students with pre-existing illnesses would suffer graver consequences.
