It seems that Anna is forced to grow up because of the context she is leaving in. She might not fully understand what is going on in depth however, she knows that something is wrong, that she might be scared and enjoy life day by day. It is not possible to see her with nowadays eyes, because of the social context and the situations she might have to deal with. She might be quite aware of her role within her family and people around her.
