Class interval 1-3 4-6 2-9 10-12 13-15 16-18 and Frequency  3 7 12 9 5 Quartiles range Q1 =-3.25, Q2 = 6.5, Q3 = -2

What is frequency?

The term "frequency" in statistics meaning is  is the number of times a data value occurs. Frequency is number of times is repeated.

Quartile deviation :

Arranging Observations in the ascending order, We get :-7,-2,-2,-2,-2,-2 Here, n=6,

Q1=(n+14)th value of the observation, Q1=(74)th value of the observation, Q1=(1.75)th value of the observation, Q1=1st observation +0.75[2nd-1st], Q1= =-3.25

Q3=(3(n+1)4)th value of the observation, Q3=(3⋅74)th value of the observation, Q3=(5.25)th value of the observation, Q3=5th observation +0.25[6th-5th], Q3=-2+0.25[-2--2], Q3=-2+0.25(0), Q3=(3(n+1)4)th value of the observation, Q3=(3⋅74)th value of the observation, Q3=(5.25)th value of the observation, Q3=5th observation +0.25[6th-5th], Q3=-2

Formula for Middle quartile (Q2) = N + 1 multiplied by (2) divided by (4) Q2= 6.5

As a result, Quartiles range Q1 =-3.25, Q2 = 6.5, Q3 = -2
