In order to do this problem, you need to follow the exponent rules.

For addition and subtraction, you need to have the same power to add or subtract.

For multiplication and division, you just need to add or subtract the power.

A. 8.6 × 3.2 = 27.52 and then with the powers so it's 10⁷
   27.52 × 10⁷ is the same thing as 2.752 × 10⁸ so it cant be choice a
B.  1.870 x 10⁷ + 2.565 x 10⁸ you need the powers to be the same so the change one to make the other one the same so it would be 0.1870 x 10⁸ + 2.565 x 10⁸ which equals to 2.752 x 10⁸ so b cant be it either
C. 6.88 x 10¹¹ ÷ 2.5 x 10³ you just divide 6.88/2.5 = 2.752 and then subtract the exponents so it's 2.752 x 10⁸ c cant be it either
D. 7.887 x 10¹² -- 5.135 x 10⁴ that already doesn't look right because if you just subtract it directly, it's 2.752 and the two powers are completely off

The correct wrong answer is D

Hopes this helps!

The common factor of given terms is x/8, which is given in option B.

<h3>What is factor?</h3>

A factor is a number that divides another number, leaving no remainder.

Here, given terms are:

 \frac{5}{8}x     and      \frac{11}{8} x

Now, factors of 5x/8 = 5 X 1/8 X (x)

        factors of 11x/8 = 11 X 1/8 X (x)

So, common factors are 1/8 and x

Thus, the common factor of given terms is x/8, which is given in option B.

A circle has its center at the origin, and (5, -12) is a point on the circle. How long is the radius of the circle?
Amanda [17]

Option C

The radius of circle is 13 units

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

<em><u>The equation of circle is given by formula:</u></em>

(x-h)^2+(y-k)^2 = r^2

Where, the center being at the point (h, k) and the radius being "r"

<em><u>Given that circle has its center at the origin</u></em>

(h, k) = (0, 0)

<em><u>(5, -12) is a point on the circle</u></em>

(x, y) = (5, 12)

<em><u>Substituting in equation we get,</u></em>

(5-0)^2+(12-0)^2 = r^2\\\\5^2+12^2 = r^2\\\\r^2 = 5^2+12^2\\\\r^2 = 25 + 144\\\\r^2 = 169\\\\Taking\ square\ root\ on\ both\ sides\\\\r = \sqrt{169}\\\\r = \pm 13\\\\Since\ radius\ cannot\ be\ negative\ ignore\ r = -13\\\\Thus\ the\ solution\ is:\\\\ \r = 13

Thus radius of circle is 13 units

Evaluate the limit of tan 4x/ 4tan3x
Brut [27]

Answer:

  1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio is undefined at x=0, so we presume that's where we're interested in the limit. Both numerator and denominator are zero at x=0, so L'Hôpital's rule applies. According to that rule, we replace numerator and denominator with their respective derivatives.

  \displaystyle\lim\limits_{x\to 0}\dfrac{\tan{(4x)}}{4\tan{(3x)}}=\lim\limits_{x\to 0}\dfrac{\tan'{(4x)}}{4\tan'{(3x)}}=\lim\limits_{x\to 0}\dfrac{4\sec{(4x)^2}}{12\sec{(3x)^2}}=\dfrac{4}{12}\\\\\boxed{\lim\limits_{x\to 0}\dfrac{\tan{(4x)}}{4\tan{(3x)}}=\dfrac{1}{3}}
