Read the sentence. In a fit of rage, Adam tore the letter asunder, throwing the pieces into the fire. Which context clues from t
zhuklara [117]

Answer:

The context clues which would be the most helpful in determining the meaning of asunder are: tore and pieces.

Explanation:

Asunder is an archaic adverb, which means we do not use it much nowadays. It means apart, divided, or into pieces. Supposing we did not know that definition, we could easily guess the meaning of asunder by finding context clues in the sentence where it appears. In this case, there are two words that can easily help us understand what asunder means: tore and pieces. Tore, the past form of the verb tear, means to rip something apart. And pieces, of course, mean a portion, chunk, or segment of something. If Adam tore something asunder and then threw the pieces, we can safely guess asunder has something to do with making those pieces, breaking or ripping something.

If you were George Washington, how would you feel when you saw the corporal refuse to help his men?
valentinak56 [21]
If I were George Washington, and I saw the corporal refuse to help his men, I’d be filled with such rage and sadness. It would overcome my ability to stay put. The amount of disappointment I’d feel in those moments would nearly rip my heart out my chest. The corporals refusal to help his men had mentally abused me in every way. I am no longer George Washington, but a victim of mental abuse. It is within my reach and my power to overcome said abuse, but in all reality, am I ready to? Am I ready to overstep the lines and overcome the inability to feel happiness? Am I ready to step out of my comfort zone and step up for myself? I’m not sure. At this point, I do not control my life. I am nothing but a character in your story book. It is ultimately your decision wether you would like to keep reading or not. Ever since corporal has refused to help his men, my anger has filled skies, my tears have filled empty oceans, and my fear has brought back the dead. Viewing my life in an outsiders perspective, I see how much of a monster I’ve become. I’m watching my life fall apart right before my eyes. Me, being silly old George Washington, cannot do anything about it. My life is crumbling before my very eyes without a singular blink. Although, you may think I am overreacting, I am not. Everyday decisions impact everyday decisions. Watching corporal refuse to help his men, just proved my very point. There is no justice in this cruel world. All we can find is pain, misery, and ache. All we feel is sadness, disappointment, and anger.

If I were George Washington, and I saw the corporal refuse to help his men, I’d be filled with such rage and sadness.

“A quilt of a country” is best described as what kind of text?
Mashutka [201]

The correct option is 2)Argumentative: In an argumentative text you discuss a subject or problem from different perspectives. At this time, Anna Quindlen the author of "A quilt of a country" states that although the great diversity found in America creates a lot of problems in the cities, it also serves as a quality to make America more special, and for this she uses a literature metaphor: Quilt, to put into other perspective her intention in the text. Although the author recurs to real episodes happend in America It's not autobiografical because doesn't talk about a particular person's life. It's not fictional because most of information is based on real facts, although uses literature metaphors to make the idea clearer.
