Effective SCM requires reducing cost, increasing inventory velocity and compressing cycle time. What of the following is true? 1
-Dominant- [34]

Answer:

The answer is: 4) More frequently than not, the three objectives are compatible.

Explanation:

Toyota is famous for its Just in Time (JIT) management. They are the absolute kings of efficient supply chain management and they were able to do it by making the three objectives compatible. That doesn't mean that they all have to be dealt with at the same time and with the same intensity.

Toyota's first goal was to reduce costs and in order to reduce costs they had to increase their inventory turnover. Then they discovered that in order to keep increasing inventory turnover, they had to compress their cycle time. When they were able to compress their cycle time, their turnover increased even more and their costs were lowered. The system produces continuous feedback and their efficiency keeps increasing.

I once visited one of their factories that produces almost 500 pickup trucks per day and every single work station had available inventory for only 4 trucks; only 4 engines, 16 doors, etc. It is amazing how they do it considering that every 3 minutes one truck is fully produced.

The three objectives are not only compatible, but they are absolutely necessary for the SCM to be effective.

Superior Corporation reported taxable income of $1,000,000 in 20X3. Superior paid a dividend of $100,000 to its sole shareholder
Komok [63]

Answer:

$225,000

Explanation:

Federal corporate income tax (21% flat rate)

$1,000,000 x 21% = $210,000

Federal dividend tax (15%).

$100,000 x 15% = $15,000

Dividens are neither expenses nor deductible, so they do not reduce the amount of corporate taxable income. Therefore we must add up the two quantities.

$210,000 + $15,000 = $225,000

Two of the different data categories for an HRIS database are: Group of answer choices information about people and information
MrRa [10]

Answer:

information about people and information about the organization.

Explanation:

A database management system (DBMS) can be defined as a collection of software applications that typically enables computer users to create, store, modify, retrieve and manage data or informations in a database. Generally, it allows computer users to efficiently retrieve and manage their data with an appropriate level of security.

A data dictionary can be defined as a centralized collection of information on a specific data such as attributes, names, fields and definitions that are being used in a computer database system.

In a data dictionary, data elements are combined into records, which are meaningful combinations of data elements that are included in data flows or retained in data stores.

This ultimately implies that, a data dictionary found in a computer database system typically contains the records about all the data elements (objects) such as data relationships with other elements, ownership, type, size, primary keys etc. This records are stored and communicated to other data when required or needed.

Human Resources Information System (HRIS) is simply used to gather or collect data (informations) about the employee working in an organization.

Hence, two of the different data categories for an HRIS database are information about people (employees) and information about the organization.

Boots Plus has two product lines: Hiking boots and Fashion boots. Income statement data for the most recent year follow: Total
Stels [109]

Answer:

Net Operating Income rises by $10,000 when Fashion Boots is discontinued.

Explanation:

Current operating profit for Boots Plus = $45,000

that is $65,000 profit from Hiking and $20,000 losses from Fashion

In case if Fashion boots is discontinued, then fixed cost eliminated = $30,000

In that case Total fixed cost of fashion boots non eliminated = $40,000 - $30,000 = $10,000

Which will be loss from Fashion as no other operating activity will be there.

Net operating profit of the company will be

Profit from Hiking Boots = $65,000

Less: Loss from Fashion Sales = $10,000 (Fixed Cost not eliminated)

Net Operating profit = $65,000 - $10,000 = $55,000

Net Operating Income rises by $10,000 when Fashion Boots is discontinued.
