Answer:

To maintain the balance of power, the English made alliances with other states—including Portugal, the Ottoman Empire, and the Netherlands—to counter the perceived threat. These Grand Alliances reached their height in the wars against Louis XIV and Louis XV of France.

Describe D.B Cooper
tresset_1 [31]

Answer:

Dan Cooper is the pseudonym of an unidentified man who hijacked a Boeing 727 aircraft in United States airspace between Portland and Seattle on the afternoon of November 24, 1971. The man purchased his airline ticket using the alias Dan Cooper but, because of a news miscommunication, became known in popular lore as D. B. Cooper. He extorted $200,000 in ransom and parachuted to an uncertain fate. Despite an extensive manhunt and protracted FBI investigation, the perpetrator has never been located or identified. It remains the only unsolved case of air piracy in commercial aviation history.

How did civilizations that were far from rivers support agriculture, and how did this affect their development?
Dima020 [189]

Early civilizations depended greatly on agriculture, which means that they depended on water.

What Mesopotamians and Egyptians did (as well as others) was that they built canals from the rivers which would lead water to the crops as an irrigation system more or less.

Why do many people still argue about the decision to drop atomic bombs on Japan in 1945?
e-lub [12.9K]
Because it is a sensitive topic. Some believe that it was revenge for Japan's bombing of Pearl Harbor, while others say it was wrong to use such powerful weapons, bombing not one, but two towns, and killing more than 129,000 innocent japanese people.
