first, i agree because wei chen was new, and he saw that jin is the other chinese boy in the class. they became friends because they speak chinese. in the other half of the book, wei chen is jin, enemy because jin kissed his girlfriend, and he is mad.
The author thought Merlin's voice should seem like it is hooting.
