Answer:

1. b) The incorporation of the 14th Amendment has consolidated power between the government at the local, state, and federal level.

2. a) The Supreme Court overturned the separate but equal doctrine in schools.

Explanation:

1. The 14th Amendment's incorporation concentrates local, state, and federal power. Section 1 of this amendment states, "No state shall abridge the rights or immunities of U.S. citizens; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law; nor shall any state deny any person within its jurisdiction equal protection of the laws."

2. Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka abolished the 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson tenet of "separate but equal" in schools. This judgement did not say that separating pupils by race was intrinsically improper; rather, it declared that if two schools were really equal, they should be permitted to separate without legal repercussions.

In a paragraph of 3–5 sentences, summarize how Reagan changed the role of government and evaluate whether his policies benefited
dimulka [17.4K]

Answer:

(Im sorry it isnt 3-5 sentences! But just look over it and create a paragraph of your own with the information given.)

Nonetheless, Mr. Reagan's Presidency has altered the tone and texture of government by changing the focus of political debate from solving social problems to cutting budgets and restricting Federal activities. One important measure of his political effect is that mainstream Democrats have taken up his longstanding assault on Federal deficits. Another is that state and local politicians no longer look to Washington for new initiatives and funding.

In his inaugural address after taking the oath of office on January 20, Ronald Reagan called upon Americans to "begin an era of national renewal." In response to the serious problems facing the country, both foreign and domestic, he asserted his familiar campaign phrase: "Government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem." He hoped that America "will again be the exemplar of freedom and a beacon of hope for those who do not have freedom."

Arguably the first conservative U.S. president in over 50 years, Reagan advanced domestic policies that featured a lessening of federal government responsibility in solving social problems, reducing restrictions on business, and implementing tax cuts. Internationally, Reagan demonstrated a fierce opposition to the spread of communism throughout the world and a strong distrust of the Soviet Union, which in 1983 he labeled an "evil empire." He championed a rearmed and strong military and was especially supportive of the MX missile system and the Strategic Defense Initiative ("Star Wars") program.

why was benjamin franklins signature on the declaration of independence sure to make him either a hero or a traitor?
asambeis [7]

Answer: He was a hero

Explanation:  Franklin firmly endorsed the idea that Britain should relax its control over the American colonies and allow settlers a greater role in running their own businesses.

In 1774 he went to England to petition King George III (1738-1820) in favor of the colonists and the newly formed Continental Congress. The king and the House of Lords rejected the petition, and by the time Franklin returned to Philadelphia, the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783) had already begun.

After his election to the Second Continental Congress, Franklin organized the postal service, becoming its chief, and helped Thomas Jefferson write the Declaration of Independence, signed July 4, 1776. That same year, Franklin was chosen as ambassador. American in France and, while in office, managed to convince the French government to support the American cause with weapons and supplies.
