Social traditions and practices might be significant at times, but Frost emphasizes how difficult it can be to modify them once they have become entrenched in society. The wall has been entirely destroyed by the hunters, and the speaker is in disbelief and even upset over it.

That can't be very enjoyable. These hunters act more like four-year-olds than hunters; they play constantly but don't clean up after themselves. As they tear down sections of the wall, the speaker replaces them like a parent or a chaperone.
