A regular polygon have the number of lines of symmetry equal to the number of sides of the regular polygon.

An equilateral triangle is regular polygon with three sides. An equilateral triangle has three line of symmetry.

Similarly, a square is a regular polygon wth four sides. And a square has four lines of symmetry.

the cost to go bowling is a function in terms of the number of games bowled. the cost to bowl 2 games with a shoe rental is $16.
Likurg_2 [28]

Answer:

x = cost of games bowled = $6

y = cost of shoe rental = $4.50

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x = cost of games bowled

y = cost of shoe rental

2x + y = 16.50 (1)

4x + y = 28.50 (2)

Subtract (1) from (2) to eliminate y

4x - 2x = 28.50 - 16.50

2x = 12

x = 12/2

x = 6

Substitute x = 6 into (1)

2x + y = 16.50 (1)

2(6) + y = 16.50

12 + y = 16.50

y = 16.50 - 12

y = 4.50

x = cost of games bowled = $6

y = cost of shoe rental = $4.50

What are the new<br> coordinates of (6,-2) with<br> the dilation scale factor of<br> 1/2.
In-s [12.5K]

Answer:

(3, - 1 )

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming the dilatation is centred at the origin then multiply each coordinate by \frac{1}{2}

(6, - 2 ) → (6 × \frac{1}{2}, - 2 × \frac{1}{2} ) → (3, - 1 )

Substitution: y-2x=-6 and 5x-y=9
Dmitrij [34]
<span>y-2x=-6 and 5x-y=9

step 1: isolate y in the first equation

y = 2x - 6

step 2:  substitute the y value on the 2th equation:

5x-(2x-6)=9

step 3:  solve the present equation:

5x - 2x + 6 = 9
3x = 9-6
3x = 3
x = 1

step 4: get the y value by replacing the value of x in </span>y = 2x - 6:
<span>
y = 2*1 - 6
y = 2 - 6
y = -4

S={1, -4}
