He easily won reelection because of the person he was running against. He also won because before he had created the new deal, which brought a lot of people jobs. People wanted him to stay because of his programs.

This means that if a state thinks that a new law goes against a current constitutional amendment, they have the right to not follow it. The nullification crisis causes severe tension in Congress for decades leading up to the Civil War.
