The main difference between folk and outsider art is that Folk art refers to objects usually made for utilitarian purposes, while Outsider art refers to the visionary work of contemporary artists

What is Folk Art?

This refers to the type of art that is used to show the rich culture of a particular place through dance, songs, paintings, etc.

Hence, we can see that on the other hand, outsider art is usually one where the art produced belongs to untrained artists such as children, and others who make art as leisure.
