José de San Martin was an Argentine soldier, statesman, and national hero who assisted in directing the revolts against Spanish rule in Argentina (1812), Chile (1818), and Peru. He was born in Yapey, Viceroyalty of the Rio de la Plata, Argentina, on February 25, 1778, and passed away in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France, on August 17, 1850. (1821).

Thus, José de Martin played a vital role in the enlightenment of Argentina, Chile, and Peru against Spanish rule.
