1. Why do we do this? Filters and other image editing tools are mostly used to make pictures appear more beautiful and shiny to anyone viewing it. Exampls are images uploaded on social media that are edited and look different from the original which may have been considered less beautiful. Other uses could be to make the picture clearer for investigative or other documentation purposes

2. People who can't upload pictures of themselves to social media without editing them begin to develop low self esteem and depression as they are not proud of what they look like. Also image editing, use of photoshop image editing app for instance, is often deceptive and can be used to defraud people.

3. Don't allow social media replace your reality. Try to reduce use of social media and even if you have to use it excessively, make sure it reflects your offline life, your true reality. Avoid editing pictures you upload unless you just wish to make it clearer.
