Explain this quotation: Judge Danforth – "But witchcraft is ipso facto, on its face and by its nature, an invisible crime, is it
cricket20 [7]

Answer:

The victims must be believed.

Explanation:

Judge Danforth is saying that because witchcraft is an invisible crime, it can only be brought to trial based on verbal testimonies, and because a witch will not testify against herself, the victims' testimonies must be believed. Danforth also assumes that the witches will confess to their crimes after the victims testify. (In reference to The Crucible).

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME
Inessa [10]

Answer:

Literary devices used:

 • Imagery
 • Symbolism
 • Point of view
 • Oxymoron
 • Hyperbole

Explanation:

The poem uses imagery because the author is very descriptive when describing the kind of man this women needs, the poem uses symbolism throughout the poem to describe the women's nationality. The poem uses point of view in third person because it has a narrator, the poem uses oxymoron because at first you would think the women is happy but then turns out to be sad and needing love and affection. Then finally hyperbole which is when the author uses exaggerated phrases which when he said he would walk through lightning.

Hope this helps.

Which conflict, typical in the 1960s and 1970s, does the case Spence v. Washington involve?
tester [92]
Spence hung an american flag upside down with peace symbols on it outside his apartment and was tried for this. An original decision to fine him $75 and give him 10 days in jail was reversed as it was found that he had a right to communicate his message that the US should stand for peace instead of killing people in Cambodia and the Kent 'State University. This type of conflict was common in the '60s and 70's with protestors against the war in Vietnam and the killings of people fighting for black civil rights. Muhammed Ali's refusal to fight in the war against the Vietnamese was another high profile example of this type of protest.
