No, the delegates who came to the Philadelphia Convention had different priorities than the principles of the original convention.

What is the significance of the Philadelphia Convention?

The first and foremost immediate priorities of the delegates who had joined the Philadelphia Convention were that which government, federal or state, shall have more power to be able to overrule the decision of the other.

The priorities of the original constitutional convention were to address the difficulties of the American Articles of Confederation.

Hence, the significance of the Philadelphia Convention has been aforementioned in the regard of the delegates who were a part of this constitutional convention, and thus the statement is false.

There were several reasons the gap between the rich and poor grew during the 1980s. Unions, which had always protected workers, were in decline. Also, the global economy was changing and growing causing stiff competition among workers for available jobs. A third reason was that there was a burst of growth in temporary jobs and part-time jobs.

What are some of the necessities of life that were shipped to West Berlin during the height of the Berlin Blockade?
bearhunter [10]
That is a tough question: West Germany and Berlin, the Soviets declared the new currency void in the eastern partition under their control. Days later, the Soviet government closed supply lines to West Berlin. The United States Air Force and the British Royal Air Force organized a massive effort to deliver needed food, coal, and medical supplies into Berlin to thwart the Soviet blockade. The round-the-clock operation, which became known as the Berlin Airlift, sustained the residents of West Berlin for over a year, and secured the freedom of West Berlin from Soviet control.

How did McCarthyism have such a powerful effect on American life in the 1950’s? Ill add the docs for the requirements
alisha [4.7K]

Answer:

Joseph McCarthy had a negative impact on American societ-y in that he compelled the American public to enter a state of anti-communist hysteria so severe that innocent people were maligned, ostracized, blacklisted and in some cases, imprisoned. According to the Reference Dictionary, McCarthyism is defined as "the political practice of publicizing accusations of disloyalty or subversion with insufficient regard to evidence." Joseph McCarthy, a senator from Wisconsin, rose to prominence as a member of the House Committee on Un-American Activities. He accused thousands of American citizens of being communists or communist sympathizers. Prominent among the accused were many Hollywood celebrities, government employees, union activists and educators. Suspicion was often regarded as proof, and witnesses were threatened into revealing lists of supposed communist sympathizers to protect themselves. Many of the accused were publicly disgraced and lost their jobs. McCarthy used television to make many of the hearings public.

McCarthy's downfall came in 1954 during the Army-McCarthy hearings, which were broadcast live on television. He began to attack and insult decorated members of the armed forces, causing President Eisenhower and the U.S. Senate to censure him on 46 charges of abusing his legislative powers. In 1957, McCarthy died of complications brought on by severe alcoholism.
