Hey!

Your equation is -

x {}^{2} - 25 + 16 = 0

x {}^{2} - 9 = 0

<u>We</u><u> </u><u>can</u><u> </u><u>write</u><u> </u><u>9</u><u> </u><u>as</u><u> </u><u>3</u><u>²</u><u> </u>(Why?) because it forms identity a² - b² = (a + b) (a - b) .

x {}^{2} -  {3}^{2}  = 0

(x - 3)(x + 3) = 0

This gives the information that either,

<u>x - 3 = 0 or x + 3 = </u><u>0</u>

<u>So</u><u>,</u><u> </u>x = 3 or x = -3

<em>Hope it helps,<u> you may ask if you have any </u><u>co</u></em>nfusions ^-^

<u>Answer:</u>

x = 3,   x = -3

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

x² - 25 + 16 = 0

⇒ x² - 9 = 0

• Add 9 to both sides:

⇒ x² = 9

• Square root both sides of equation:

x = \sqrt{9}

x = ± 3

x = 3  and  x = -3

Solve the system ... y=3x-8 and y=-9x+4
natita [175]
1] y - 3x = -8
[2] y + 9x = 4

-3x + y = -8 9x + y = 4

Solve equation [2] for the variable y

[2] y = -9x + 4

// Plug this in for variable y in equation [1]

[1] (-9x+4) - 3x = -8
[1] - 12x = -12
// Solve equation [1] for the variable x

[1] 12x = 12

[1] x = 1
// By now we know this much :

y = -9x+4
x = 1
// Use the x value to solve for y

y = -9(1)+4 = -5

{y,x} = {-5,1}
