Answer:

Because it is a militarized society, that is, a society organized in the same way as an army, all Spartan men should be educated from childhood to compose this army. For this there was a selection of people already at birth, because babies born with some malformation were sacrificed, because they would not be useful for war. Military education took place from the age of seven, in harsh conditions, away from the family and often isolated in the fields and woods. The training had a harsh discipline, as children and adolescents could not contest the orders of their superiors and had to accept the terrible conditions of life. This training took place until he was 21, when they became hoplites, soldiers ready to defend Sparta. At 30, the Spartan could marry, but only after 60 was entitled to become a member of Gerusia.

Women devoted themselves mainly to domestic life, homework, how to take care of family food, being forced to have children and take care of their health until they were handed over to the army. Social activities had limits, appearing in public only on a few occasions and performing political functions at rare times, but tending to property when husbands were away on military tasks. They performed physical exercises and sports to keep a body prepared to have children so that they could become strong soldiers.
