Seoul, the capital of Korea, is a very fascinating place. It is a very old city, but very modern. There are several ancient pala

ces that are major tourist attractions, which draw thousands of people annually. One example is Kyongbok Palace, which was founded by the Yi Dynasty in 1392. It is easy to tell that Seoul is also a very modern city. The most obvious clue is the skyline, everywhere you look one can see countless high-rise office buildings and apartments. Another indication is its transportation system; the subway, buses, and taxis are second to none. Seoul, being the cultural and financial center of the country, is also the most populated city in the country. The city’s thriving and energetic 10 million plus population is eager to make any tourists stay an event to remember.

The topic sentence is "It is easy to tell that Seoul is also a very modern city." Based on this, we can select the following transition words:

 1. The most.
 2. Another indication.
 3. Also.
 4. One example.

What are transition words?

They are words that make connections between the paragraphs, or sentences of a text. These words promote the fluidity of the text, leaving it coherent and harmonious where all the sentences complement each other.

It is important to note that the topic sentence is the one that shows the main subject of the paragraph and as we can see, the above paragraph shows that Seoul is a very modern city.

With the identification of the topic sentence and the understanding of the text, we can build a concluding sentence for the text. This sentence should show what it is possible to decide after reading the text about Seoul.

An example of a concluding sentence that you can use in this text is:

With this, it is possible to perceive that Seoul is an attractive city and that it can surprise many tourists.
