The treaty of Oregon signed during the presidency of Polk was between the Great Britain and The USA. its aim was to settle dispute over the Oregon country which had long been occupied by both countries.

The USA received most of the lands of the county over time, as the negotiated treaty favored the USA more than the British, resulting often to skirmishes such as the pig war.

How many terms did theodore roosevelt serve as president?.
Nat2105 [25]

Three Terms as President

His election for a third term took place as the United States remained in the throes of the Great Depression and World War II had just begun. While multiple presidents had sought third terms before, the instability of the times allowed FDR to make a strong case for stability.
