Nebuchadnezzar II visited Judah once more in 589 BCE and besieged Jerusalem once more. Many Jews sought safety in neighboring Moab, Ammon, Edom, and other nations.

After a siege that lasted between 18 and 30 months, the city was finally overrun, and Nebuchadnezzar once more pillaged Jerusalem and the Temple before destroying them both.
