A thesis statement about the play Hamlet is: Hamlet's quest for power was his ultimate undoing as he thought he could not be killed by a man born of a woman, but Laertes' weapon, poisoned by Claudius killed him.

What happened in Hamlet?

Hamlet is set on a path of revenge after his father was killed by his brother Claudius, in a bid to usurp him.

Hamlet consults witches to find out about the future and he is told that he would be king (Hamlet 1, 3) and this sets off a chain of events as he plots to become King of Scotland.

Hamlet is power-hungry and does anything to gain power, including consulting witches, engaging in several murders, feigning madness, etc but he is ultimately killed by the sword of Laertes' poisoned weapon.

Which question would most likely be answered by reading the exposition of a story?
VladimirAG [237]

Really, that depends on the story you're reading. The story wouldn't tell where the author is born, the author could've researched another country to make the character act the way they do, so you could quickly eliminate that answer. Sometimes you can tell what decision the character will make if the book is easily predictable, like usually in teen fiction. Imagine a book where there's a good girl, she's very shy. She meets a bad boy, a player. You can easily predict that they will get together. I doubt that you will figure out that there are multiple themes just by reading the exposition. The exposition is the introduction, there's so much more to read after that. The last one sounds more like it, in the exposition, it immediately introduces the main character. It shows you the personality of the main character.
