This is the term that is used  to refer to the type of natural disasters that includes the overflowing of water from its source. Floods could be due to the fact that there is heavy rainfall in an area, or it could be due to the fact that natural water bodies are overflowing.

This could be very dangerous and lead to the loss of lives and properties. During this period, a lot of people are trapped in their homes till an emergency rescue team comes to their aid. Other times they may have the issues of drowning.
