Which war?

For the sake of answering the question in some fashion I am going to assume you meant WW1. Was WW1 influenced by the industrial revolution, I certainly believe so. The way war was fought used to be radically different, before the industrial revolution there wasn’t enough resources to fight in massive front wars so concentrated battles where common (Napoleon-esque type of war). I’m contrast once the industrial revolution came around productivity skyrocket to the point where countries like Britain, France, Russia, and Germany could create large amounts of military equipment to the point armies could be numbered in the millions, not the thousands of the prior century.

Answer:

Stronger defensive equipment, bombs, rifles made it a deadlier conflict-medical treatment and generals lagged behind the technology.

Explanation:

The Industrial Revolution in the 19th century transformed conflict. The Civil War is generally called the first modern war. It highlighted how industrial and agricultural improvements revolutionized combat. To completely grasp the Industrial Revolution, one must view it from the perspective of a century of quick and radical change, in which fresh discoveries in industry, science, and technology were rapidly applied to combat.
