Last option. The part of the great depression that the illusion here can be said to portray would be disillusioned returning veterans.

What is the great depression?

This is the term that is used to refer to the worst economic downturn that the people of the United States have been said to suffer as a country. The period was due to the fact that the banks in the nation failed. This lead to serious issues of lack of jobs, poverty and forms of economic problems.

The issue did not just end with the United States. The effect of the great depression spread to other continents such as Europe and also Africa. People lost their jobs, the stock exchange market crashed and many people had no houses.
